• The 2023 New Mexico Health Access Survey (NMHAS)

The Office of the Superintendent of Insurance (OSI) contracted the University of New Mexico, Center for Social Policy to administer the first New Mexico Health Access Survey (NMHAS) to address the state to have state-specific information on New Mexicans’ access to healthcare services, the percentage of the population with health insurance, public perception of the affordability, access, and quality of the services they receive, and whether there are discernable differences in outcomes between genders, ethnic or age groups, or rural-urban divides. While there are national surveys that address these issues, proportional sampling for sub-state-level coverage is limited in the context of national surveys, and data for this sub-state level may be unreliable.
