Our regulatory environment is fair and reasonable and we use the NAIC uniform certificate of authority application (UCAA) forms to review and process your applications quickly. Filing your Application We encourage you to submit your Foreign applications electronically through the NAIC. We only require hard copies for domestic insurers. You can begin the application process by choosing to file a: UCAA primary application for newly forming New Mexico domestic companies or an existing company wishing to re-domicile to New Mexico. UCAA expansion application for companies domiciled in other states or U.S. territories expanding into New Mexico. UCAA corporate amendments application for existing licensed insurers requesting amendments to their New Mexico certificate of authority. UCAA Corporate Amendments Application The Uniform Certificate of Authority Corporate Amendments Application is designed for use by an existing insurer for requesting amendments to its Certificate of Authority. The Uniform Certificate of Authority Corporate Amendments Application can be used to file more than one change in the same submission. The applicant should mark all changes being filed on the application form and submit all items required for those changes in one package. How to Apply We encourage filing applications electronically (www.naic.org) as we have no additional “hard copy” requirements for corporate amendments. State Specific Information We will need the original Certificate of Authority returned for the following: Name changes Adding or deleting lines of business Re-domestication Change of city or state Merger (for non-survivor) Applications Domestic & Foreign Insurers The primary application to the Uniform Certificate of Authority Application (UCAA) is designed for use in the formation of a new insurer, or by an existing domestic insurer that is making application to re-domesticate to another state. How to Apply All primary applications must use the NAIC Uniform Certificate of Authority Application (UCAA) (www.naic.org). Also, all primary applications must be submitted in hard copy to the following: Office of Superintendent of Insurance Company Licensing Bureau 1120 Paseo De Peralta, Room N-421 Santa Fe, New Mexico 87501 State Specific Requirements Contact Processing Form, Minimum Capital and Surplus Requirements and Legal References UCAA Expansion Application (foreign insurers) The Expansion Application to the Uniform Certificate of Authority Application (UCAA) is for use by an insurer that wishes to expand into one or more Uniform States. The applicant may file expansion applications simultaneously in as many states as desired. How to Apply All foreign expansion applications may be filed using the NAIC Uniform Certificate of Authority Application (UCAA) (www.naic.org). We encourage filing applications electronically (www.naic.org) as we have no additional hard-copy requirements for foreign insurers.
