September 6, 2024 Announcements REQUEST FOR DECLARATION OF A CATASTROPHE Comes now, the Civil Investigations Bureau for the New Mexico Superintendent ofInsurance (“CIB”), requesting that the Superintendent oflnsurance (Superintendent”) declare that a catastrophe resulted from the Salt and South Fork Fires, and in support respectfully states as follows:1. Originating on the Mescalero Apache Reservation, the South Fork and Salt fires started on Monday, June 17, 2024. The South Fork Fire was reported at 9:07 A.M. MDT and the Salt Fire was reported at 2:00 P.M. MDT. The South Fork Fire threatened the community of Ruidoso, New Mexico, within twenty-four hours after the start of both fires an estimated 8,000 people were evacuated from the impacted area, the wildfires had affected 15,276 acres, and 1,400 structures were estimated to have been destroyed.REQUEST FOR DECLARATION OF A CATASTROPHE
June 26, 2026 Bulletins MEDICAL MALPRACTICE PREMIUM REDUCTION AMENDED BULLETIN 2026-010: The New Mexico State Legislature appropriated $5 million to the New Mexico Office of Superintendent of Insurance (OSI) to address medical malpractice insurance costs for individual providers. The appropriation was part of a supplemental appropriation package passed in 2025.
